Getafe once again sit atop the Primera Division after a victory over Atletico Madrid.

The surprise package so far in La Liga won yet again, this time at the expense of a side who had beaten Barcelona just a week earlier.

Midfielder Mario Cotelo was sent off on the hour for a wild challenge on winger Martin Petrov, but defender Mariano Pernia struck the winner 10 minutes later when he fired a free kick through a ragged Atletico wall.

Getafe are now 2 points clear of Celta de Vigo, who play Sevilla on Sunday.
