Is This the End of an Empire?

Middlesbrough thrashed Manchester United on the back of two magnificent goals from Gaizka Mendieta, one from Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and a brilliantly converted penalty by Aiyegbeni Yakubu.

United were never in contention and Rio Ferdinand had a particularly poor game.

So poor Sir Alex Ferguson deliberatley ignored him as he left the field following his 85th minute substitution.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored an injury time goal to save United's honor - but on this performance United have no hope of challenging Chelsea for the title.

And the unthinkable must be thought. Is it time for Fergie to go?
